Residential Treatment
All participants for MAP Behavioral Health Services must meet DSM V criteria for substance abuse or dependence, as well as the ASAM (American Society for Addiction Medicine) criteria for outpatient or residential treatment. Services include outreach, crisis intervention, early intervention, medication management, inpatient/residential referrals, outpatient day or evening treatment, transportation to appointments and visits, emergency and long term housing, case coordination, and relapse prevention counseling.
Criteria for Program Participation:
- Males, 18 years of age or older
- Fulfils DSM V definition of chemical substance abuse disorder
- Diagnosis of major mental illness
- Client is coherent, rational, and oriented for treatment
- Client is able to comprehend and understand the materials presented
- Client is able to participate in the rehabilitation/treatment process
- Client agreement to work toward recovery goals
- Health Insurance Verification
- Evidence of Psychiatric Evaluation
- Continuity of Care Form with the following information -
- Schedule follow - up appointments with PCP and Psychiatrist
- Prescribed medication with a 30 - day supply
- Ordered into White Cross Pharmacy at (401) 351 - 5902, with the fax copy provided to MAP.
Exclusionary Criteria:
- Physical limitations which limit the individual’s ability to participate fully in our drug treatment program
- Severe psychiatric disorders in need of acute hospitalization
- Convicted Sex Offenders
- Severe sexual disorders
- Any psychiatric history of Pyromania (i.e. history of behavioral impulses to repeatedly and deliberately start fires.
- Chronic aggressive behavior incompatible with a group living environment.
